BRAGI'S TONGUE

"One is called Bragi: he is renowned for wisdom, and most of all for fluency of speech and skill with words. He knows most of skaldship, and after him skaldship is called bragr, and from his name that one is called bragr-man or -woman, who possesses eloquence surpassing others, of women or of men."

– Gylfaginning

Bragi is the Norse God of poetry and music. I was particularly drawn to a passage from the Old Norse poem Sigrdrífumál that lists Bragi's tongue among the items that have magical runic inscriptions.

What would Bragi's runic tongue look like?

What would the inscription say?

The original fantasy painting was done in oil and measures 18" x 24".
