Where does your soul come from? It was a gift of Odin. What of your mind, your thoughts, your reason? Odin’s brother Hoenir gave that to you. What of your being, the heat that fires your existence? That was a gift of another of Odin’s brothers Lóthur. Three brothers, gave three gifts, to Ask and Embla, the first humans, and these gifts we continue to bear down through the ages. As we have been given gifts it is for us to give gifts, and in such a way the cycle of gifting continues.
